Sound Design


In this assignment, our team worked on the short film Coffee Run, we first watched the film together as a group then started planning for what type of music we need to look for each of the scenes. We then went on sound cloud and YouTube audio library to find the right sound effects and free uncopyrighted music for our scenes.

For our music choices, we decided on a sad, rainfall type of music during the funeral scene to match the depressing cries, and joyful wedding music during the marriage scene to fit the excitement of that scene. We also chose other music throughout the short to match the pacing and mood changes.

I contributed to the group by helping choose the music, making sure it matched the scenes, and helping with the editing and final upload. As a group, we reviewed the film multiple times, tried plenty of different songs, adjusted the audio levels, and worked together to make a clean final project.

 After completing Where the Road Ends , we were able to look back at our entire production process and evaluate our final product. Overall, we believe our film successfully tells a clear story and creates a strong sense of mystery, especially through the use of lighting, props, and editing. One of our biggest strengths was our ability to work together as a group and adapt to challenges. Throughout the project, we faced issues such as lighting problems, interruptions from cars, and the need to re-film certain scenes. However, we were able to overcome these difficulties and improve as we continued filming.   Assignment Description  For this part of the assignment, we had to create a storyboard for our film opening. A storyboard is a visual plan that shows how each important shot in the film will look before filming begins. It helps map out the camera angles, actions, and movement in the scene. This makes it easier to understand how the story will unfold on screen and helps the group stay organized during filming.
