Sound Design

In this assignment, our team worked on the short film Coffee Run, we first watched the film together as a group then started planning for what type of music we need to look for each of the scenes. We then went on sound cloud and YouTube audio library to find the right sound effects and free uncopyrighted music for our scenes. For our music choices, we decided on a sad, rainfall type of  music during the funeral scene to match the depressing cries, and joyful  wedding music during the marriage scene to fit the excitement of that scene. We also chose other music throughout the short to match the pacing and mood changes. I contributed to the group by helping choose the music, making sure it matched the scenes, and helping with the editing and final upload. As a group, we reviewed the film multiple times, tried plenty of different songs, adjusted the audio levels, and worked together to make a clean final project.

I used smooth walking to make it feel like a professional tracking movement. It was challenging to keep a steady pace, but it gave the video a nice sense of motion and depth. Pan shot:  For this shot, I slowly moved the camera horizontally from left to right to capture the full view of my scene. It was interesting seeing how a simple pan could make a still moment feel more cinematic.  Whip pan: In this clip, I moved the camera quickly from one subject to another, creating a blur effect between the two shots. This movement added a fast, energetic feeling, almost ...

Sound Art Project

The main objective of our Sound Art Project involved developing a soundscape lasting between 45 and 90 seconds centered on a particular scene using a mix of pre-recorded downloaded sound effects, alongside bespoke Foley sounds we created. Additionally we needed to make a distinct video capturing the making of our Foley sounds. Offer a comprehensive written account of our methods and final editing decisions. We selected the Café in the Morning " intending to portray the dual sensation of arriving at a cozy, bustling café, from a somewhat chaotic street and then entering inside. Our storyboard included an opening segment with vehicles, a rooster and footsteps followed by a prolonged indoor segment  characterized by the murmur of the crowd, soft background tunes and detailed sounds of making drinks. The sound effects we downloaded and used included the Doorbell, Café Crowd Ambience and Background Music from Pixabay along with Cars Beeping from Free Sound Effects Site. These served as...
